CLINTON
Everett H. Burgwinkle, 80, of 71 Woodruff Road died Tuesday, April 26,
2005 in Clinton Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of fifty-nine years, Irene M. (Bashaw) Burgwinkle;
two sons, Everett H. “Skip” and his wife, Patricia Burgwinkle of
Clinton, and George E. and his wife, Brenda Burgwinkle of Holden; two
sisters, Mae D. Coccione and Marjorie Bashaw both of Clinton; three
grandchildren, Jerry E. and Nicholas Burgwinkle of Clinton, and Amy
Osborne of Shrewsbury; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Timothy
Burgwinkle. A son, Jerry R. in 1958, four brothers, and three sisters
predeceased him.
He was born in Clinton, son of Edward and Delia (Martin) Burgwinkle and
was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Burgwinkle worked as a calibration technician at the former ITT
Suprenant Co. for
thirty-two years, retiring in 1989.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European African
Middle Eastern Theatre.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. He was also a member
of the Central MA Amateur Radio Association and an amateur radio
operator for fifty-two years. His call letter was W1YSB. He was also an
accomplished woodcarver.
